POWER FACTOR CONTROLLER MSC-6

CIRCULAR SWITCHING MODE

Circular switching mode uses the FIFO principle: First-In-First-Out. If the switching-in follows the order 1-2-3-4-5, then the switching out of the capacitors steps will also follow that same order 1-2-3-4-5.

The circular switching mode distributes the load uniformly on all contactors and thus on all capacitors.

A further advantange of this mode is that a capacitor step, when switched out, is relieved with sufficient time for discharging.
It can only be switched in again after the re-switching blocking delay has elapsed.
The advantages of the circular switching model also help to avoid the so-called hunting operations. With the switching sequence 1:2:2:2:2:2, for example, the "double size" steps are switched in circular sequence, and the "single size" step is used for fine tuning.

Hokkim

The features and functions of HL-14 is the same with model HL-7 with the exception of 14 outputs instead of 7 outputs. The speed of stepping in or out of the banks is adjustable at the back of the regulator from 5 to 50 seconds. Greater inductive load will also increases its speed. For all models of Hokkim PFR the C.T. has to be mounted on the Red phase just after the incoming breaker and supply taken from the Yellow and Blue phase

EL Control

The PFRMD is a microprocessor controlled automatic power factor regulator, assembled in a 144x144 mm format container for flush mounting (DIN standard 43700). It can operate on three-phase low voltage systems at 220, 380, 415VAC and also on high voltage systems by taking the voltage and current measurement signals from transformers (voltage transformer and current transformer). A version configures for performing single-phase measurements is available. The PFRMD measures permanently the reactive power consumption in the load, and according to the control logic, it can connect or disconnect the required amount of capacitor steps needed to obtain the present coso value by means of a micropricessor-controlled logic.

The PFRMD optimizes the use of the capacitor elements in a bank. The steps are rotated in order to obtain in the shortest time, and with the minimum number of operations, any desired combination. The "Top-up" function reduces considerably the number of operations, while the power factor correction is guaranteed. The regulation procedure and alarm management functions are the intelligent type, thanks to the microprocessor and software developed entirely by ELCONTROL.
